VIEW FROM A ROOM

Donald Cribbs

If God had chosen to have the Bible be only one word in length, that word would have been love.

Simply speaking, we were born with the desire to be loved and accepted. Many of us are and/or were willing to do anything for this love.

God, in all of His glory and wisdom, created man for the express purpose of being loved. He knew that by giving us a "free will," we could choose whether or not to love Him. Obviously love has its consequences.

Is it worth it?

Yes.

Love is the greatest gift you can freely share with anyone. There are no limits to loving others. It isn't hard; it isn't complicated. No one will ever refuse a hug or a handshake. If given time, love covers a multitude of sins.

Sure, people may look at you funny, but if you stop and think about it, shouldn't that set off bells and whistles as to how much this world really does need love?

Love shouldn't be classified as "weird" or "abnormal". Rather it should be openly shared constantly and in every situation.

Remember these two things:

"For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes on Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

Everlasting life would have never been achieved without the greatest sacrifice of love. Jesus is our best friend. He died for us. THAT IS LOVE!

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

(1 John 4:7,8)
